Major Supplier of Specialty Enzymes Joins the Plant Protein Innovation Center (PPIC)
Amano Brings Enzyme Technology to Plant Protein Innovation Center
JOLIET, IL, MARCH 16, 2022—Amano Enzyme, Inc., a major supplier of specialty enzymes to the food industry, announced it has become a member of the Plant Protein Innovation Center (PPIC), an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to studying plant and alternative proteins.
The plant protein innovation center (PPIC) is the first center of its kind in the nation established for research on plant and other alternative proteins. The PPIC brings together interdisciplinary researchers and industry partners to produce and study nutritious and functional plant protein ingredients and products–from breeding and genetics to processing, formulation, and marketing.
PPIC’s research efforts are headquartered at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul. Industry partners include major agribusiness and food industry companies, including ADM, Cargill, Danone, General Mills, KraftHeinz, among many others.
Amano looks forward to working with other partners and supporters of the PPIC in advancing the research on alternative proteins through enzyme technology.
